The consultant based in Dodoma will be responsible for implementing the new activities emanating from gender and equity aspects and ensuring all newborns are registered in Dodoma, Singida, Geita, Shinyanga, Mara, Simiyu, and Mwanza regions. The consultant in close coordination with the LGAs in these regions will ensure that registration records are uploaded in time and sent to the respective district headquarters for scanning and archiving. The consultant will also help in doing the capacity building of the LGAs staff on critical areas as part of the exit strategy. Being based in Dodoma, the consultant will also the Child Protection Specialist (Birth Registration and CRVS) in liaising with the focal points in PORALG, the NBS, and the Ministry of Health.

Implement the new activities emanating from gender and equity aspects and ensuring all newborns are registered in Dodoma, Singida, Geita, Shinyanga, Mara, Simiyu, and Mwanza regions; ensure newborns are registered and data uploaded; liaise with PORALG, the NBS, and the Ministry of Health








(I)Work plan

(ii)October to December 2019: Liaise with RITA regional coordinators and council teams and LGAs regional coordinators for start of the new activities; visit councils and regions between October and December 2019; ensure that newborns and children aged 1-4 years are registered and their records uploaded; and coordinate with PORALG, the NBS, and the Ministry of Health.

(iii)January to March 2020: Liaise with RITA regional coordinators and council teams and LGAs regional coordinators and ensure 30% of the activities are completed and report on the status of implementation of new activities; visit councils and regions between January and March 2020; ensure that newborns and children aged 1-4 years are registered and their records uploaded and coordinate with PORALG, the NBS, and the Ministry of Health.

(iv)  April to June 2020: Liaise with RITA regional coordinators and council teams and LGAs regional coordinators and ensure 60% of the activities are completed and report on the status of implementation of new activities; visit councils and regions between April and June 2020; ensure that newborns and children aged 1-4 years are registered and their records uploaded and coordinate with PORALG, the NBS, and the Ministry of Health.

(v)  July to September 2020: Liaise with RITA regional coordinators and council teams and LGAs regional coordinators and ensure all activities are completed and report on the status of implementation of new activities; visit councils and regions between July and September 2020; ensure that newborns and children aged 1-4 years are registered and their records uploaded and coordinate with PORALG, the NBS, and the Ministry of Health.

(v) A detailed region-wise report containing the activities completed, their status, challenges faced, and solutions provided; number of children registered and uploaded during July and September 2020; and activities followed up with PORALG, the NBS, and the Ministry of Health.

(vi) Final report summarizing all activities.
